Cornetta (Corniola)


Old cherry variety still grown in Emilia-Romagna, especially on the hills of Cesena. The name comes from the similarity of the flesh and the shape of the fruit of Cornus mas, known for being firm, sweet and sharp.
Tree: Rustic cherry tree characterized by erect posture, good vigor and productivity, constant, uniform and mainly on the darts and covered by the leaves; late entry in production.

Maturation: Late ripening period, about 41 days after Burlat.
Fruit: The fruit is medium size, heart-shaped, intense red skin, dark; good tollerance to cracking.
Taste: The pulp of the cherry is very colorful: dark red. Very firm, very pleasant taste.
