Ferrovia

One of the most planted and known varieties of cherry. It is the reference cultivar in Puglia but it has spread to all areas of cherry production thanks to its environmental adaptability. Ferrovia produces fruits of excellent size and texture. Very good taste.
Tree: Good vigour and semi spreading habit, good productivity.
Editor: Unpatented.
Flowering: Late blossoming period. Pollinators: Canada Giant, Giorgia, Sylvia. A very good production is with Kordia and Regina too.
Maturation: Medium-late ripening period, about 34 after Burlat in Italy.
Fruit: Medium-large cherry with deep potted red and round shape. It is slightly sensitive to cracking and quite resistant to monilia.
Taste: Flesh is pink, firm and juicy at the same time. It is also sweet (16-17° Brix).
