Montepulciano Grape


A grape variety widely grown in Abruzzo, it has gained importance throughout Italy.

Tree: Average vigour and productivity.

Maturation: Early October.
Fruit: Cluster medium-large, conical, often winged. Sub-oval berry with pruinose, purplish-black skin.
Taste: It has a fair resistance to ageing and produces a dry, savoury wine with a ruby red colour.
