Cotogno BA29

A selection of Provence quince licensed by Inra in Angers. It has a robust, fine, branched root system that guarantees good anchorage. It prefers fertile and fresh soils, it also tolerates dry soils and soils with active limestone up to 6/7%. Averagely sensitive to Erwinia amylovora but susceptible to Agrobacterium tumefaciens, ‘pear decline’, virosis and cold. Rather vigorous, enters production slowly, but has a good and constant production capacity, especially with the more vigorous species. It induces good fruit size and enhances its appearance and organoleptic qualities.
